Alex Consani commanded attention at the highly anticipated Vogue World 2025: Hollywood event. Gracing the "Summer of Love" segment, she appeared in an exquisite Valentino haute couture piece, drawing inspiration from the celebrated 1992 film 'Orlando.'
Consani's attire was a contemporary interpretation of the costumes originally conceived by Sandy Powell for 'Orlando,' which starred Tilda Swinton. Powell previously shared with Vogue her profound creative liberty during the film's production, a sentiment echoed in the reinterpretation worn by Consani.
The event also featured Hunter Schafer, who showcased the original 'Orlando' costume on the runway. Consani, in turn, presented its haute couture counterpart, embodying the character with a distinctive off-white peasant blouse, ruffled sleeves, a studded leather corset, vibrant teal and white bloomers, and a majestic ruffled cape.
Powell emphasized the deep connection between costume design and character development, noting that her work extends beyond mere aesthetics. It's about enabling actors to inhabit their roles authentically. Consani's performance at Vogue World 2025: Hollywood undeniably brought this philosophy to life, allowing the audience to fully engage with the character she portrayed.
